Welcome to Pilgrimage Wild!

It’s not always easy is it? Life, that is. We like the road when it’s smooth and predictable, when the weather is warm and balmy. But what happens when life takes a swift turn in a direction we weren’t expecting? What happens when winter arrives?

Well, that is what Pilgrimage Wild is here for. We have experienced the twists and turns, the winter seasons of life and faith. And you know what? It ended up being the best thing that ever happened!! (Seriously!) I know you don’t believe it, but it is really, really true. (More on this later).

But it’s also not a given. Winter doesn’t automatically mean sitting in front of a fireplace with a beautiful mug filled with hot chocolate while the snowstorm rages outside.

Sometimes we are out IN the snowstorm and have no idea which way home is. We are lost and confused and cold and scared.

If that describes you, welcome here.

We welcome you to the fire. It may feel like you are in the fire, but we welcome you to sit with us for a while beside the fire. Let it warm you. Revive you. Thaw your frozen heart and soul.

You are welcome here. We want to walk with you through this pilgrimage life that is wild and unpredictable and twisty and turny and that sometimes flips us completely upside down!

We believe that GOD is waiting to meet you in whatever season you are in! He is not waiting for you to get it all together. Waiting for you to get to summer, to the end of the pilgrimage path, or to joy. No. He is with you. In the joyful summer days, yes. But also in the days of the shriveling and drying up of autumn. In the deep freeze of winter. And in the new hope and new life of spring. He does not rush us, wherever we are. He does not judge or condemn us. No, He meets us where we are. He welcomes us there. He embraces us and then says, “Let me walk with you.”

Whatever season you are in, there is something for you here. Welcome.

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit..

The Pilgrimage Wild Story

I am a photographer + creative. A number of years ago, I discovered the power that art holds in drawing people into an encounter with Jesus. That changed everything for me and is why I do what I do. I love making creative resources and seeing how God uses them to powerfully meet with people right where they are at, and show them His love. It is a beautiful thing!

In 2016, I walked into my own Dark Night of the Soul, or winter season. It was brutal. I felt like my whole world had been shattered - both externally and internally. I was depressed, angry and my faith was thrown into turmoil.

But God showed up (after what felt like a LONG season of silence!) and met me and walked with me through my wild pilgrimage of suffering. But He didn’t just walk with me. He transformed me through it.

I later created a photography project out of that season that has since impacted many people as they walk through their own Pilgrimages of Suffering. (The project is called “Let the Bones You Have Crushed Rejoice” and you can find it in the Resources section). That was the beginning of a number of new journeys for me.

  1. Seeing how God could bring beauty out of the ashes of my suffering.

  2. Seeing how God wanted me to create resources to help people meet God on their pilgrimages.

And so here we are! Meeting on this Pilgrimage of life that is WILD! Full of ups and downs, twists and turns, highs and lows, summers and winters of faith.

So let’s walk together, shall we? And see how God wants to meet us…wherever we are.

Other Resources for your Pilgrimage Journey

And because I love books and things I can hold and touch and write notes in and highlight, I also create tangible, physical books and other resources that you can order and have in your own home. From books that will walk with you through the journey of suffering to prayer cards that use images to help you encounter God (or make great conversation starters!), we have a number of resources that will help you encounter Jesus no matter where you are on your pilgrimage journey.

Either way, we have seen God meet people in such special and impactful ways through these cards. Somehow the images open people’s hearts and then God meets them there…healing the deepest wounds, beliefs and places of their hearts.

Let the Bones You Have Crushed Rejoice Creative Prayer Guide
$35.00

The third book in the “Let the Bones You Have Crushed” Trilogy!

This beautiful guide takes the images from the original “Bones” book and invites you to prayer. Using Visio Divina (praying with an image), Lectio Divina (praying with Scripture) and Creative Questions for Jesus, this book has all you need to encounter Jesus on your journey through suffering, or just in your everyday emotions.

The book opens with some simple instructions on how to use the book, and how to pray with image (Visio Divina) and how to pray with Scripture (Lectio Divina). For each image, there are four passages of Scripture for you to pray with. Choose an image and use the Visio Divina guidelines to help you pray with the image, and then use the Lectio Divina guidelines to help you pray with one of the Scripture passages. Then choose one of the Creative Questions, and see how God wants to meet you and speak to you…personally and intimately.

With nineteen images, four Scripture passages for each image, and tons of Creative Questions, you will have months and months of treasures to unpack with this book! Feel free to use it chronologically, or just dip in and out thematically as you need it.

This is a freestanding book that does not require either of the previous two books in order to use it.
